Before and After School Club - Bickley Nightingales
Bickley Nightingales are our Before and After School Care Provision. Our aim is to provide high quality before and after school care for children attending Bickley Primary School.
The Bickley Nightingales will operate in the main school hall and playground, weather permitting. Children will have the chance to interact with peers from different classes, enjoy a variety of games, participate in physical activities, and access a range of toys and games, including board games, role play, arts and crafts, and construction activities.
We want to ensure that children have fun in a safe and nurturing environment where they can socialise with their peers and take part in activities that interest them.
Breakfast will be served from 7.30am in the main school hall for those children who choose to attend the breakfast club. Tea will be served to children at approximately 3.30pm for those attending the afterschool club. The school’s caterer, Harrison, will provide our food. The Bickley Nightingales hours of operation and prices are as follows:

Children should be dropped off at the main school entrance and be signed in on arrival. The infant children attending the Bickley Nightingales in the morning will be escorted to their classroom in time for the start of school. The junior children will be dismissed from the school hall and will make their own way to their classrooms for registration.
After school, the infant children will be accompanied to the Bickley Nightingales by staff and the junior children will be dismissed directly from their classroom and make their way to the club to be registered.
REGISTRATION PROCEDURE
Registration for new Reception children September 2026 - Booking opens Monday 20th April.
Current children attending Nightingales needing to increase/change days – Booking is now open.
Registration for children in Years 1 – 6 not currently attending Nightingales – Booking is now open.
To request a space for your child(ren), please complete the electronic registration and booking forms using the links below. You must complete one form per child. Both forms must be completed to secure a place at the club.
Places at Bickley Nightingales are limited and we would recommend booking early. Confirmation of a place will only be given upon receipt of the above forms.
Registration forms for places starting on the 3rd September need to be completed by Monday 18th May.
Please note that places at the club will be allocated in the following priority order:
- Siblings of children already attending the club
- Children already attending Bickley Nightingales requiring additional days
- All other applications will be processed and allocated a place in the order in which they are received
PAYMENTS
Invoices will be issued on a half termly basis in advance. The invoice must be paid by the date on the invoice to guarantee your child’s place in the club. Failure to make payment may result in your place being allocated to another child on the waiting list.
If you are unable to make the full payment by the due date, please contact the club administrator to discuss alternative payment options.
We are registered with the HMRC tax-free childcare scheme and accept Childcare vouchers from the following providers:

If your employer uses a different childcare voucher provider, please indicate this on your registration form or contact us at nightingales@nestschools.org.
Payments can be made by bank transfer or childcare voucher. We do not accept cheques or cash for Bickley Nightingales.
Your invoices will contain a unique reference so that we are able to identify your payment. Please do not send any payments via childcare vouchers or using any other method until we have issued your invoice as we may not be able to match your payment.
Club Staff and Contact Details
The Bickley Nightingales club is managed by trained staff, each of whom will have an enhanced DBS check and a paediatric first aid qualification. The club falls under the school’s Ofsted registration; however, the club has separate contact details and its own management structure. The club also maintains its own registration procedure and documentation.
