Guitar Lessons

Andy is a full time professional musician and has taught guitar at Bickley primary for 14 years. Andy studied at The London College of Music (Bmus hons) and the Guitar Institute learning various aspects of the music industry from recording through to performance. Previous Bickley students of Andy’s have also become professional musicians since leaving the school.

Andy teaches in groups or on a one to one basis. All styles of guitar can be taught including electric, classical and grades.

Outside of teaching, Andy works in many musical situations such as theatre, studio and production along with managing his party band, www.soulavenue.co.uk who perform throughout the UK and abroad for celebrities, royalty, members of parliament and television.

Piano and Violin Lessons

Amanda Clare began her music lessons at Primary School and was accepted to study at the Royal Academy of Music, at 18. 

Since then, she has been performing and teaching professionally for over 25 years, as a violinist, pianist and singer, in all genres of music, from classical, jazz and soul to blues, folk and rock.

Mrs Clare has been teaching at Bickley Primary School for 13 years and is extremely committed to the school and it's pupils.  Able students are taught and prepared for ABRSM exams, in both violin and piano.

She is also licensed teacher for Bromley Youth Music Trust.

Drum Lessons

Jonathan has played drums professionally for 18 years and has had the pleasure of working accross the globe with a variety of musicians and performers. 

Credits include Gareth Malone, Cilla Black; David Hasselhoff; Pamela Anderson; Paul O'Grady; Brian Blessed; Ruby Wax; Anita Dobson; Jerry Springer; and most recently Jess Robinson.

Jonathan is a fully qualified Music teacher having graduated with PGCE in Music Education in 2010 and continues to plan and deliver curriculum and instrumental lessons to children at both Primary and Secondary level.

Jonathan always builds a good rapport with each of his students and inspires them to truly reach their potential by demonstrating the highest level of musicianship with clear aims and expectations, consistently tailoring practical learning that meets the need of each individual student.
